Karin founded and serves as CEO of Taku Group. She has been working in science and technology-
related fields for over 20 years. Karin holds SB degrees in Molecular Biology and in Electrical
Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
an MS in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley,
and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering jointly awarded by UC Berkeley
and UCSF. She is an alumna of the
Haas School of Business’ Global Bio-Executive Program.
Karin has served as CEO, President, Executive Vice President, VP of Technology, VP of Products,
and in other management roles. She has served on multiple non-profit and for-profit boards of
directors. In 2011, she joined the Association for Corporate Growth,
San Francisco Chapter’s Board of Directors.
Prior to her work in the commercial sector, Karin worked at the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, the University of California,
the Whitehead Institute,
SRI International,
and the C.S. Draper Laboratory.
She has worked with organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups,
non-profit organizations, and government agencies in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In
addition to serving as CEO of Taku Group, Karin is a Principal in
Pacific Bio-Health Consulting, a
firm that facilitates the formation of long-term partnerships originating in and/or entering into the
Pacific-Asia region.
Karin speaks multiple languages and has lived in Europe and in North America. In her personal life,
she is learning to fly airplanes, enjoys climbing mountains, and rescues/trains Siberian huskies.
